Indians welcome in Australia, says Rudd

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who is in India, has assured Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that his government is committed to stopping the attacks on Indian nationals in his country.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says he has conveyed to his Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd India's concern over safety and security of Indian students who have been repeatedly targeted down under in racially motivated assaults.

The Australian Prime Minister has said that Indian students are welcome in his country.

"Our government has zero tolerance towards such attacks. Attacks on foreign students won't be tolerated," said Rudd.

However, Rudd further said that he cannot totally rule out such attacks in future.
