High alert in Red Corridor as Maoists call bandh
NDTV Correspondent, Wednesday November 4, 2009,

India's Red Corridor is on high alert as the Maoists have called a two-day bandh to protest against government's Operation Greenhunt.

Four states - Jharkhand, West Bengal, Orissa and Chhattisgarh - have been put on alert.

Police are expecting trouble in Jharkhand as it goes to the polls on November 18.

Reports say two Maoist companies of 100 members each have fanned out in the Andhra, Orissa border.

Meanwhile the Naxals have blocked off Orissa's Narayan Patna in Koraput district as the two-day bandh begins.

They are demanding an immediate withdrawal of CRPF forces and the govt's Operation Greenhunt.

Security forces are on a high alert in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati districts in South Orissa.

The Naxal sleeper cells have been most active in these districts over the last couple of weeks.

Also there are reports that a very large number of armed Naxals are hiding in the thick forests of south Orissa.

Have you thought of the dalits and tribes whom the naxals fight for. they are still carrying feces of the upper castes in North India. They have working from 6-6 for Rs. 5, they cant draw water from well dug with government funds, they children cant enter school or if they enter they cant sit on a bench, they dont have legal rights, village chief is the law, they are not allowed to vote or shud vote as the landlord decides, they dont have land even to build houses, they dont have healthcare, they cant enter buses. Nobody cares about them for naxals, this has been going on for thousands of years, cant go on any more, this is their time to deliver, the dalits in india are not fools, they are watching the congress governments attitude, they will teach them a lesson. Unless or until these social injustice ends, naxal problem cant be solved, or will u deploy army in all villages of north india, the fire that s been burning in the torn hearts of dalits is exploding, no CRPF or army can stop the raging fire.

The Maoists are demanding withdrawal of security forces? What for? So that they could create trouble, so that rule of anarchy and goondaism prevails! Don't listen to them. Offensive is the best defensive. Crush them once for all.
