International cricket tournaments and the closely approaching Commonwealth Games are a challenge for any security agency. But private agencies are hoping to rise to the occasion with their sophisticated gadgetry.
And these devices are now being put to test at Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Faisal Nagel, the man who heads security operations for IPL and the Champions League, can't wait to get to the little security control room at the stadium.
This security officer is impressed with the way these latest device helps detect any explosive planted within a radius of 5 km.
"It's interesting but then it hasn't really been tested by the right people," Nagel said.
"We were testing this in Assam. Assam Police had kept six bombs at different places in the stadium, we have managed to detect all six of them," said K Venkat Seshu, Director, Micro Sec company.
The gadgets installed are certainly more hi-tech than those available with local agencies. Clearly, with the Commonwealth Games approaching, these private security companies are getting ready for big business. |
