Duped by a travel agent, two men from Ludhiana are now stranded at the Kuala Lumpur airport.

The travel agent allegedly took Rs 1 lakh each from them to send them to Malaysia on a work permit.

The two, however, were detained at the airport by the Malaysian airport authorities as they did not have proper documentation.

Lakhbir Singh and Raju, are labourers from Ludhiana. A travel agent sold them fake work visas. For two weeks now, they have been begging at the airport to buy food.

Their story was captured on phone by Sandeep Chandan, an NRI, who met them in a transit lounge.
 
''The agent took Rs 1 lakh from us. He had promised us a work visa. We are sitting at the airport for the past 12 days. He said it was a permanent visa and boarded us on the plane. Now authorities at the airport are shooing us away. As soon as we landed here, the police caught us. We do not have any police case against us, but they have asked us to sit here,'' says Lakhbir Singh.

"They do not have anything to eat. As much as these boys are at fault, it is the travel agents who should be punished for duping poor men,'' says Sandeep Chandan.

Chandan has contacted the media with this footage hoping after seeing it, the police and the embassy will come forward to help.
