There is a new twist in the David Headley saga. A team of the National Investigating Agency (NIA), in Pushkar to probe Headley's links, has zeroed in on Oasis Hotel where the suspected Lashkar operative reportedly stayed for two days in March this year.

The police have also taken away the hotel's attendance register as Headley reportedly checked in here as David Coleman.

"He came on March 11 and stayed in Room number 17 of our hotel. He used to keep going upstairs and going out. But we have a total of 48 rooms and I can't remember all details of which tourist did what in our hotel," said Kailash Parashar, the owner of the hotel.

The police are also exploring whether Headley's visit to Pushkar was specially aimed at Israeli tourists who flock to this pilgrim town in large numbers. Interestingly, the room Headley chose to stay in Pushkar, directly overlooks a Jewish community centre called Baad Khabaad.

"He asked for a room in a corner that would give him a clear view of the road in front. From his room he could clearly see the Baad Khabaad where the Israeli tourists come together to pray when they are here," Kailash Parashar said.

The NIA team spent two days in Pushkar investigating Headley's trail. It is also probing whether Headley visited Ajmer where the famous Sufi Dargah was the target of a terrorist blast, barely a year before 26/11.
