After much introspection on its poll debacle, the CPM is now all set for corrective action.

Top leaders are meeting in Delhi over the weekend to discuss what the party calls a rectification programme.

After examining the reasons for its electoral setback, the party has identified a few factors that need to be dealt with urgently:

• Growing factionalism, especially in Kerala
• Bring about lifestyle changes among its cadre
• Convince voters about its industrial policy especially in West Bengal, which it had failed to do
