BJP failed to communicate its message: M M Joshi
Press Trust of India, Saturday May 16, 2009, Varanasi

Seeking to explain the NDA's defeat in the Lok Sabha election, senior BJP leader and winner from Varanasi Murli Manohar Joshi on Saturday said the saffron party probably failed to communicate its message to the 'aam admi (the common man)'.

"It is not as bad as is being projected by the media. But he felt it was not up to the party's expectation and it happened probably because of the party's failure to communicate its message properly to the people of the country," he said.

"Party leaders will now sit together and introspect the results and try to find out where the party strategy went wrong," he said.

To another question, Joshi said, "The poll manifesto and the agenda set by the party had no flaws and it was not the reason for the party's poor performance."

On his win from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency over BSP candidate Mukhtar Ansari by a margin of over 17,000 votes, Joshi said, "It is the victory of the people of Varanasi."

The BJP has regained the seat after five years.

BJP is a party with mission of making India a true and allround Hindu. The concept of Hindustva is presented by other parties is totally in distorted manner.Unfortunately BJP also could not present it properly. The inclusion of Rammandir in manifasto was needless.Modi's policy at Gujrat clicked as you make focus on development.Bringing black money from Swiss Bank in 100 days was a misleading statement.BJP has got capability but patience and effective manmanagement can bring 100s of MODIS within party. Best of luck.Pl.don't get nervous there are crores of followers like me with BJP
