BJP has come to the rescue of its senior leader LK Advani on Kandahar issue. Defending Advani the party spokesperson said the government had acted on the Kandahar issue by taking everyone into confidence.

The party said that there is no point in accusing anyone on the Kandahar issue now. It also rejected all allegations against L K Advani.

"The party rejects charges that Advani knew about Jaswant's trip to Kandahar," said Prakash Javdekar, BJP spokesperson.

The party descended into crisis after senior leader Jaswant Singh was expelled from the party for writing a book on Pakistan founder Mohd Ali Jinnah. After his expulsion Jaswant opened a can of worms when he accused Advani of not coming clean on Kandahar.

In fact, Jaswant was the foreign minister when Kandahar incident happened and he accompanied three terrorists to Afghanistan to be finally swapped with hijacked Indian passengers.

Advani had earlier told NDTV that he was unaware about the decision to send Jaswant to Kandahar.
