Just two days after superstar Amitabh Bachchan landed himself in fresh trouble over a piece of land in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, he has now returned the land to villagers, those who were supposed to get the land in the first place.

It's the same six bighas that Bachchan was accused of wrongfully donating to Samajwadi Party leader Jaya Prada's NGO.

The five-member committee set up by the district administration has given a clean chit to Bachchan.

However, villagers still doubt whether the women's college named after Amitabh's daughter-in-law Aishwarya will ever be built on the land.

The foundation stone for Aishwarya Rai Girls Degree college was laid almost two years ago, but construction work is yet to begin.
