Andhra Congress: Peace prevails, YSR Jr pacified
NDTV Correspondent, Friday November 27, 2009,

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Andhra Pradesh meets today to elect a new leader. This comes nearly three months after former chief minister and CLP leader YS Rajasekhara Reddy died in a chopper crash on the second of September.

Fears that the CLP would be a stormy affair have subsided after the party's central command dealt with demands for YSR's son, Jaganmohan Reddy, to replace his father as chief minister.  Jagan has been convinced to stay on as MP and may be offered a berth in the Union ministry as a Minister of State. YSR's wife, Vijayalakshmi, is likely to contest the Pulivendula assembly seat that fell vacant after YSR's death.

With YSR's family getting enough attention, his camp of supporters is no longer expected to rebel against K Rosaiah, who took over as chief minister after YSR's death.

Jagan is allegdly the face of mining mafia in AP. Unfortunate that Congress is giving importance to him inspite of this. Is congress at mercy of mining mafia in AP?
