All Air India pilots are rejoining work after the five-day old strike was called off on Wednesday morning.

There were reports earlier in the day that a section of the pilots was still refusing to return to work. Sources had said the government would take strict action against pilots who did not return to work by 5 pm on Wednesday.

About 200 pilots had called in sick on Wednesday, before they decided to call off the strike on an assurance from Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel that the proposal to cut pay would be put on hold.
