Indian shot at in S Africa succumbs to injuries

A software engineer from Andhra Pradesh has died of bullet wounds after unidentified assailants attacked him in South Africa last Thursday.

B Kiran, a native of Warangal district was shot at in Johannesburg while returning from work. Two bullets hit Kiran.

He was admitted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Kiran, who has been working in South Africa for the past two years, stayed with his parents last month and left for Johannesburg on June 27.

"We came to know about the incident from his friends and we are worried," Kiran's father Sankariah said.

Police said the Warangal district SP V C Sajjnar is trying to get passport and Visas for the family members of Kiran to enable them to go to South Africa at the earliest.
