Another Indian commits suicide in Australia
Press Trust of India, Friday September 25, 2009, Melbourne
An Indian immigrant apparently committed suicide on Thursday after jumping in front of a speeding train in Sydney, less than a week after a youth from the country ended his life by hanging himself in his house in Melbourne.

The 35-year-old man died in Harris Park area after he was hit by a train, India's Consul General in Sydney, Amit Dasgupta, said.

The reason why the man, whose name was not disclosed, took the extreme step was not known immediately.

Dasgupta said the family of the victim, father of one, is devastated by the tragedy. The consulate came to know through his wife that he was an Indian, the Consul General said.

The incident came less than a week after Indian student Gurjinder Singh, who was in his early 20s, committed suicide here as he was apparently depressed over not finding a job.

It's distressing. However I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the possibility of the poor guy being pushed to his death. In fact I won't be surprised if it turns out to be the case. It's very sad indeed.
