The head of a village near Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district, also known as gram pradhan, was shot dead by musclemen on Wednesday.

The pradhan, Rishipal, was leading a protest by villagers against power theft by the musclemen, but the hooligans chased the protesters and shot Rishipal.

The man who shot him is missing but police have arrested his two sons.
