Unclaimed box triggers panic at Chennai airport
Press Trust of India, Tuesday March 23, 2010, Chennai
An unclaimed box at the airport in Chennai raised a security scare following which Bomb Disposal Squad personnel were engaged to remove it.

However, it turned out to be a motor pump, which officials believe might have been left behind by a passenger.

The BDS personnel removed the box to a safe location for checking after it was found in the car parking area. They were later convinced that it was a motor pump, officials said.

Airports across the country are on high alert following a crude explosive being found in a Kingfisher aircraft at Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.
