NDTV Correspondent, Monday December 7, 2009, Mumbai

Member of Parliament from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Padamsinh Patil has been remanded to one day police custody for threatening social activist Anna Hazare.

The Latur District and Sessions court on Monday remanded Patil to one day police custody.

Patil was earlier jailed for his alleged involvement in the killing of Maharashtra Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar in 2006.

Padamsinh Patil was arrested in June this year and released in September in the same case.

Social activist Anna Hazare had alleged that Patil had given the supari for Hazare's murder as well.
