A class XI student committed suicide in Mumbai on Thursday by jumping from the terrace of a five-storeyed building in Matunga, police said.

The victim identified as Shivani S, a student of SIES college, jumped from the terrace of Amarvilla building late on Thursday evening.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead, police said adding no suicide note was found with her.

The reason for the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately, they said.
