Nursery admission not before 4 in Delhi?

The minimum age for admission into nursery classes in the city should be increased to four years from current three, according to a consensus evolved at a meeting of school principals and parents, chaired by HRD Minister Kapil Sibal on Monday.

The minimum age for admission into class one should be six years, he said announcing the consensus that emerged at the meeting.

Sibal said he will write to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to consider implementation of the decisions.

Pre-schools like nursery and KG should be delinked from formal schooling system, it was agreed, Sibal said.

Non-formal schooling should have separate infrastructure which will help in de-stressing children, it was agreed.

If every other state fallow the same ...will be very nice. Now Delhi Kids can play more in their life.
