A government official in Lucknow was caught on camera slapping a junior who was trying to do his job.

Lucknow's District Magistrate Amit Kumar slapped his junior colleague three times at the Krishi Bhawan. The provocation? The District Magistrate was asked to show his identity card.

Kumar was touring government buildings to ensure that employees were at work. They have been on a strike demanding better salaries.

After the assault, the employees say in addition to better pay, they want Kumar fired.
