All 17 acquitted in Dinakaran case

A Madurai court has acquitted all 17 accused in Dinakaran newspaper attack case in May 2007 in which three persons were killed.

Three employees of the daily had died in attacks after its survey showed M K Alagiri's popularity in poor light in May 2007.

All the 85 witnesses had turned hostile in this high profile case.

The newspaper is owned by Karunanidhi's grand nephew Kalanidhi Maran.

The then Union I T Minister Dayanaidhi Maran was forced to resign over the issue.
