Meet Kamal Haasan on Your Call
Friday August 28, 2009
Kamal Haasan, one of South India's biggest superstars, yet completely unassuming. Punctual, courteous and dressed formally in a suit, he's a world removed from the swaggers of our Bollywood stars...and a world removed in his views as well. Political correctness isn't for him, as he talks frankly on why he hopes he will never join politics, but for me the real surprise came when he opened up on his two marriages.

Your Call with Arun Jaitley
Friday August 7, 2009
Arun Jaitley seems to be right at home as he strides into the TV studio for the recording of Your Call. Probably the BJP's most well known media face, he usually does most interviews in his residence, so he can fit in the many requests from TV channels one after the other in prime time slots from 8:30 to 10:00 pm. On Your Call, he's made an exception and agreed to make a rare appearance on our sets.

Onto the next episode...
Wednesday July 22, 2009
Looking forward to second episode of Your Call with Dr Naresh Trehan and Dr Devi Shetty, two of India's best known cardiac surgeons. After all the politicians, interesting to interview men who literally make the difference between life and death for thousands of patients, as well as explore their ideas on how to make heartcare accessible at an affordable price. Dr Shetty in particular, a real inspiration. Tune in for more...

This week on Your Call
Wednesday July 22, 2009
To all our loyal NDTV watchers, Look out for a new show I'm anchoring, Your Call. It's the first show on Indian television where you can ask your question directly to our big guest of the week. Here's how...you can call in at a dedicated number, i.e., 011-41635871, log on to NDTV.com on the Your Call page and you can go on to our page at Twitter and Facebook as well! Or just stroll down to our special broadcast vans in major cities to ask what you always wanted to know about India's biggest personalities...no holds barred! For the first episode, I will be joined by a very special guest - a man of many parts, currently Minister of State for External Affairs, not bad for a first time MP. In fact a first time voter as well...but that's just one small part of Shashi Tharoor's biography. Stay tuned to this space for more!

Dynastic Politics
Saturday May 9, 2009, New Delhi
Politics is a family business! This not so surprising fact, hit me squarely between the eyes on Phase 4 of the elections. From sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, over half the candidates contesting had a family background in politics. And here's the second part of my revelation...does anyone really care?

Mumbai: Vote for Change
Saturday May 2, 2009, New Delhi
For once it is not the politicians who have let us down, but the aam aadmi, the voter in Mumbai who has let down the system. The people laughing the most now are politicians like Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who dismissed angry protesters after 26/11 as 'lipstick wearing socialites' , saying these people are irrelevant as they don't bother to participate in the political process. Sadly, nearly 6 months later, he seems to have been proved right.

India vs Bharat
Monday April 20, 2009, New Delhi
The fascinating and most challenging thing about Election 2009 for politicians and pollsters alike, is that there is no one overarching theme....it’s a mish mash of a variety of issues, ranging from national leaders to the local candidate to even the pradhan who's taken a Rs 5,000 bribe before releasing funds for a pukka house.

The Saffron Gandhi

It's terrifying to watch how cynically, politicians can reduce religion to a vote catching gimmick.

Making a choice
Wednesday April 8, 2009, India
India ..a land of a thousand 'breaking' stories, often at least 10 a day. Sometimes being part of a 24/7 news channel is similar to the job profile of a hapless Mumbai air traffic controller...as planes land within minutes of...
