Muzaffarpur, Bihar: A teenage girl from West Bengal was allegedly gang-raped by five men, in the emergency control room of the district collectorate, in Bihar's Muzaffarpur on Sunday night.

The woman was travelling to neighboring Sitamadhi district and was received by her relative at the Muzaffarpur station, when they were approached by five men, who claimed to be undercover cops and said they wanted to verify the antecedents of the girl and her relative.

They asked the woman to come along, promising to drop her to her destination. However, they took her to the emergency control room inside the district collectorate and gang-raped her, says the police.

The woman later managed to get to a nearby police station and lodge a complaint. A case was registered against the five accused.

A driver of the Additional District Magistrate, who is the main accused in the case had the key to the room where the incident took place.

The collectorate is among the most secure areas in the district under 24-hour security and police patrolling. It houses offices of top officials such as that of the District Magistrate.

Rajendra Kumar Bheel, Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarpur, said, "The police took prompt action and has arrested one of the accused. We will ensure the arrest of all 5 accused."

The woman was yesterday taken to the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur for a medical examination. A medical board team has also been constituted to look into the girl's condition.
