Mumbai:
The dead body of a young woman has been discovered in an abandoned suitcase at the Sandhurst Road railway station in Mumbai.
The police believes the woman was in her mid-20s. Because the body was not decomposed, the police thinks she was killed a few hours before her body was found in a grey stroller bag.
"The woman was murdered a few hours before her body was dumped. And the man who dumped the suitcase came in on the last train from Badlapur. There is no CCTV footage," said Ashok Deshbratar, DCP, Government Railway Police (GRP).
There are strangulation marks on the victim's neck but there are no other injuries. It looks like the man knew the victim, he added.
Late last week, a dead woman was found in a suitcase on an abandoned part of Juhu Beach. Nobody has been arrested yet for her murder.
"We are not linking this with the Juhu incident but we are inquiring with the Mumbai police on the Juhu case too," said Deshbratar.
