Mumbai:

A large fire blazed through an eight-storey building near the Andheri East railway station in Mumbai today. The fire reportedly started at a lottery company office on the second floor.

There were close to 500 people inside the building when the fire started. All the people have been evacuated and there are no injuries or casualties, officials said.

As a precautionary measure, power supply to the building has been cut off.

Ambulances and five fire engines are at the spot. Thick smoke rose from the building as firemen tried to evacuate people using hydraulic lifts.
