15 year old Girl takes plunge committing suicide

Mumbai: What initially was thought to be an accidental death, turned out to be a suicide after the police found a note in the book of the student. Ashvini Gavhare (15), a resident of Satyam Cooperative Housing Society in Sector 1, Sanpada died after she fell from fourth floor terrace of the building.

The incident occurred on November 30 at around 8 pm while she was sitting and studying on the parapet. "In the course of investigations, we found a suicide note in her book in which she had written 'I Quit'. She did not mention the reason in the letter.

She was a 10th std student but according to her family members, she was not under any pressure since she was good at studies," API AG Botre from Turbhe Police Station said.

Gavhare stayed with her mother and her maternal grandmother at their Sanpada residence. Gavhare's parents got divorced in the year 2003 and were staying separately.

"She was studying at Swami Vivekanand Sankul in Sanpada. The investigations are on and we are trying to find out the reason behind the extreme step she took," Botre added.

She was immediately rushed to NMMC Hospital in Vashi after the incident. However, the doctors pronounced her dead before admission.
