Support my school

With the second season of Support My School campaign we aspire to make a difference to at least 100 schools across India.

This season, we aim to work with schools in Visakhapatnam, Palakkad, Chennai, Jaipur, Nagpur, Jabaplur, Guwahati (Amri), Lucknow, Faizabad, Varanasi, Patna and Hyderabad.

Adarsh Vidyalaya, Village, Tulai, Taluka - Murbad

Target beneficiary: 250 students; Staff strength: 15; Up to standard: 12th

Access To Water: One well is present that dries-up in December. The school arranges for water through bullock carts. Better availability of water within the premises needs to be arranged for. Also for better quality of drinking water an RO system needs to be delivered to the school. This will ensure better health of the children in school.

Rain Water Harvesting: There is no existing rain water harvesting system. A bore well of 20m depth needs to be constructed. A recharge trench with de-silting chamber of 5mx2mx2m also needs to be constructed. This is extremely important as the ground water level in this area has declined and having a rain water harvesting system would help increase the water table and would conserve water efficiently.

Toilets: Due to unavailability of proper toilets the children have to use open spaces. This is highly unhygienic and especially inconvenient for girls. Repair and maintenance of existing toilets is required. Construction of a separate toilet for girls is also necessary.

Trees/Landscape: A natural tree shed is provided. The school premise needs a facelift. Plantation of trees leveling of the playground and beautification of school is required.

Sports: It is necessary to provide sports facilities to educate the children about the importance of physical fitness, as there are no sports activities for the children here. A badminton court will be provided.
