Support my school

With the second season of Support My School campaign we aspire to make a difference to at least 100 schools across India.

This season, we aim to work with schools in Visakhapatnam, Palakkad, Chennai, Jaipur, Nagpur, Jabaplur, Guwahati (Amri), Lucknow, Faizabad, Varanasi, Patna and Hyderabad.

Govt. Rural Upper Primary, Kolagondanahalli

Target beneficiaries: 312 students; Staff strength: 10; Up to standard: 7th

Drinking Water: Although a bore well is available, there is no water supply and no filter system for the bore well water. It is important to educate the community of the problem of current ground water. A 500 liter storage and RO/UV based water filter system is required to be set up.

Rain Water Harvesting System: Due to absence of any such system, roof water harvesting structure with a storage spill over can be set up. This would be apt as the existing school has enough RCC roof area. Such a system will also be beneficial as it would be educative and at the same time functional.

Toilets: There are two toilets none of which are in working condition. For the convenience and health of the children, eight urinals and four toilets need to be built.

Trees/Landscaping: Coconut trees and a few a few shrubs are present. A garden, however, needs to be developed to increase greenery around the school premises.

Sports: There is no provision. Kids play area with swing set and slide and badminton set need to be provided as per the standard. They must know the importance of sports in school and also learn to maintain the provided equipment.
