Support my school

With the second season of Support My School campaign we aspire to make a difference to at least 100 schools across India.

This season, we aim to work with schools in Visakhapatnam, Palakkad, Chennai, Jaipur, Nagpur, Jabaplur, Guwahati (Amri), Lucknow, Faizabad, Varanasi, Patna and Hyderabad.

Govt. Primary School, Godhan

Target Beneficiaries: 96 Students, 2 Staff; Up to Standard: 5th

Drinking Water: 1 hand pump is currently working but with the sinking of a tubewell with pumping and storage facilities there will be a regular supply of water in the tank and the water will be readily available for various uses.

Rain Water Harvesting System: A roof rain water harvesting system needs to be created on school building, along with the construction of a pit. Harvested water will recharge ground water and the drainage system will prevent water logging during the rains.

Toilets:Yes, there is one but there is no water and the toilet is in very bad condition.
If there could be 1 new toilet for girls and renovation of the existing facilities for boys, along with sufficient water supply, it will not only improve facilities, but will encourage children to use the toilets, especially girls.

Infrastructure/Landscaping: Lack of trees, a boundary wall or wire fencing and a school gate is really no motivation for students to spend more time in school. Improving on these facilities and planting 100 trees, including shadow trees and fruit plants will give them a children-friendly environment for studies, and the provision of shade for co-curricular activities.

Sports: There is space for a playground, but no implements like slide and swings, jungle gym and balancing swings etc. Such types of implements are long-lasting and children enjoy them while developing their physical strength.
