Support my school

With the second season of Support My School campaign we aspire to make a difference to at least 100 schools across India.

This season, we aim to work with schools in Visakhapatnam, Palakkad, Chennai, Jaipur, Nagpur, Jabaplur, Guwahati (Amri), Lucknow, Faizabad, Varanasi, Patna and Hyderabad.

Govt. Senior Secondary School, Jhiwana Village, Tijara Block

Target Beneficiaries: 382 Students, 7 Staff ; Up to Standard: 12th

Drinking Water: For a school that runs till 12th standard, water plays great importance. The leakage in the water tank in this school can be fixed with the construction of new water storage tank of 3000 to 5000 liters capacity that will also benefit the kitchen and basins.

Rain Water Harvesting System: While it does not exist yet, construction of roof rain water harvesting and soakage pit is necessary. There is a need to maintain the drains and pit, for which there is no budget within the school.

Toilets: Toilets are constructed but are not in usable condition for students. Construction of new toilets or even renovation and adequate water supply will result in improved hygiene and cleanliness, and reduce the likelihood of diseases.

Infrastructure/Landscaping: Planting 60 to 80 trees like Desi Neem, Sheesham, Peepal, Shatut etc. and land leveling will encourage greenery development & shadow for children during open classroom & summer season. Additionally, renovation of classrooms, kitchen & smokeless chullha and introduction of BaLA concepts will add to the infrastructure.

Sports:A huge playground space is useless unless there is a provision for sports materials and enhancement of existing sports facilities like swings. These will promote the retention of children in government schools and develop their physical strength. The campaign also looks at a proposed Jungle Gym, volleyball court or badminton Court etc.
