Partha De, Man Who Lived With Sister's Skeleton For 6 Months Found Dead In Kolkata
Kolkata: A man who lived with the skeleton of his sister for six months at his home in Kolkata was found dead today. The burnt body of Partha De, 45, was found in the bathroom of the apartment in which he had been living for the past few months.

Partha De allegedly committed suicide. Petrol in a bottle and a matchbox lay next to his body. He had been staying alone in the flat since his release two months ago from an institution.

In June 2015, Partha De's father Arabinda was found in an identical state from their home in Robinson Street.

The police, responding to a fire call, arrived at the house to investigate and what they found was so spine-chilling that Kolkata's "House of Horrors" dominated headlines for weeks.

Arabinda De's charred body was in the bathroom of the house. The police then found his son Partha in a room, with a fully-dressed skeleton. It would emerge that Partha had been living with the skeleton of his older sister Debjani De for six months.

Partha told the police that his 50-year-old sister had starved herself to death, grieving over the death of their two dogs.

The remains of the dogs were also found in Partha's room.

The police learnt that Arabinda De had not known for months that his daughter was dead and her corpse was in his home. It was only in March, when he reached out to his son and pressed him for an answer, that he was told Debjani was dead.

Partha was treated at the Pavlov Hospital for the mentally ill and released only recently.
