A nine-year-old boy was thrashed and locked up inside his house allegedly by his mother in Kerala's Idukki district.
Naufal was found by relatives and neighbours lying in a room with swollen face and lips, wounds all over his body. He was rushed to a hospital is critical condition and is undergoing treatment.
The accused mother has been sent to a shelter home along with her two other children.
Naufal, his two sibling lived with his mother in Idduki district while his father is in jail.
The police and non-governmental organisation Childline are investigating into the case.
