Thiruvananthapuram:

Two years after a woman underwent a caesarean section in Thiruvananthapuram, doctors have removed a small bundle of surgical thread from her abdomen area after she complained of severe pain.

In November 2012, the woman had underwent the procedure at a government hospital at Varkala in the neighbouring district.

Six months after being discharged, she started complaining of severe stomach pain, hospital sources said. Though she was taken to various hospitals, the woman was finally brought to a private hospital at nearby Venjaramodu where CT scan examination showed a small bundle of surgical thread near her uterus.

It was removed by a team of surgeons two days ago, the sources said.
