A 23-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence here following dowry harassment, police said today.
Roopa, a housewife with a one-year-old son, killed herself last night after she was allegedly harassed "physically and mentally" by her husband and his relatives, her relatives charged.
Her husband Uday Raj has been taken into police custody and is being interrogated, police said.
A case of dowry death and abetment to suicide has been registered against him, Roopa's mother-in-law and sisters-in-law, they said.
