Jaipur:
A teenage girl, who set herself ablaze after a man allegedly tried to outrage her modesty earlier this month, today died at a government hospital here, police said.
The 16-year-old girl, a class-IX student, was returning from her school near Neem Ka Thana town in Sikar district on April 3 when Rajaram, who was known to her, tried to rape her.
"Traumatised by the incident, the girl poured kerosene and set herself ablaze on the same day," police said, adding that an FIR in this connection was lodged on April 4.
The girl was admitted to city-based SMS hospital in a critical state where she died today, they said.
The accused who was arrested after the incident is under Judicial Custody in Sikar, police said. PTI
