Four arrested for kidnapping boy in Jaipur

Jaipur: Four persons were arrested for kidnapping a two and a half-year-old boy for ransom in Shiva Colony area of the city, police said today.

Sanjiv, who worked as a domestic help for High Court lawyer R K Daga, was arrested along with three accomplices late last night for kidnapping Daga's son and demanding a ransom of Rs 15 crore, they said.

Sanjiv left the house last evening with the child on the pretext of getting a TV repaired. When he did not return till late, the family members informed the police.

Daga received the ransom call around 10 pm but the caller did not reveal the location where the money had to be delivered, police said.

Sanjiv's mobile phone number was traced to Mahua town of Dausa district where he was nabbed from a bus along with three accomplices - Pawan, Ajay (both hailing from Bihar) and Bajrangi (from Jharkhand), the police said.

The kidnappers were heading out of the state and the boy was rescued safely, they said.

Another domestic help, who had helped Sanjiv get the job at Daga's house two years ago, has been detained for misleading police about the kidnapper's whereabouts during investigation.

A few more culprits could be involved in the case and investigation is on, police said.
