We'll have alliance with Trinamool: Pranab to NDTV

As UPA-2 completes one year in office, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee spoke exclusively to NDTV on a host of issues. The Finance Minister and UPA's trouble shooter - whose performmance was rated good by 61% voters - said his government's performance in its first year is quite okay.

On the question of alliance with Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, Pranab said, "I am confident, we will have alliance with Trinamool in Assembly polls."

Pranab said that there will be seat adjustments in Assembly polls. On Mamata, he said that he cannot afford to be angry with anybody.

On the issue of ministers not talking in one voice, Pranab said that UPA's criticism by ministers is not a major problem.

The Finance Minister also spoke on the alleged corruption in the Telecom Ministry involving its minister A Raja. He said, "I can't speculate on what Prime Minister will say on A Raja."

However, Pranab said that his government was committed to pass Women's Quota Bill.

The recent IPL controversy also came up during interview. Pranab said, "We are looking into tax evasion and money laundering aspects of IPL."
