Welcoming the release of Trinamool Congress leader and Saradha scam accused Madan Mitra on bail, party secretary general Partha Chatterjee today said they were happy and the party would always stand by him.
"We are surprised that a social worker (Madan Mitra) spends so many months in a jail, when a murder case accused can get bail in three months," Mr Chatterjee told Press Trust of India in his reaction on the issue.
"Anyway we are happy that he has got bail today. The party will always stand beside Madan Mitra," Mr Chatterjee said.
