Moradabad:
There have been violent clashes between villagers and police at an area known as Asaalat Nagar in Moradabad.
DIG Moradabad Ashok Kumar was injured in the clashes and rushed to the Emergency ward in Moradabad district hospital.
He has suffered a head injury due to the heavy stone pelting.
According to sources, the police was carrying out raids in the village to nab an accused in a case of molestation.
Locals allege that the police entered a house believing the accused to be there, and threw the Holy Quran being read by a young girl onto the floor. This got the villagers angry and resulted in a clash between the villagers and the police.
The villagers, it is also reported, did torch the police vehicles as well.
