Uttarakhand Governor KK Paul Greets People on Swami Vivekananda's Birth Anniversary

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Governor KK Paul today greeted people on the occasion of the birth anniversary of social reformer, philosopher and thinker Swami Vivekananda.

Remembering Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of his birth anniversary observed countrywide as National Youth Day, the governor said the thoughts, principles and philosophy of Swami ji had the ability to inspire and energise the youth, a statement from the Raj Bhawan said.

"Swami ji believed that the youth was the most important phase of human life. It is the time when a person can develop his inner strength. Young people must learn patience, compassion, goodness of behaviour and impartiality in order to successfully achieve their goal in life," he said.

The governor said the country can progress only on the basis of the strength, intellect and selflessness of the youth.

He also called upon the youth to respect their teachers and traditions and follow the principles of equality, showing their talents and skills to contribute to the development of the nation.

"I am confident that the youth power of the country, with its knowledge, spiritual inclination and inner strength can make India an ideal global power," he said.
