Mumbai: The name is 'Sanskari'. And Pahlaj Nihalani seems to really bond with it.

Grabbing the first-mover's-advantage, Mr Nihalani, Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification, has registered "Sanskari" as the title of his next film.

Mr Nihalani, also a producer, had put in the request for registration with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association.

"Sanskars are all that we really have in what we call life and death. That's what stays with us. But I won't share the story line. All I can assure you is this much: the audience will really connect with this film," Mr Nihalani said confirming title-securing move.

The censor board chief has time and again been accused of "moral policing" but is unfazed being the butt of countless jokes. Especially after the world's most popular on-screen spy - James Bond - was rechristened on social media as #SanskariJamesBond as kissing scenes from Spectre were chopped out by the Board as they felt they were just "too long".

He has also enforced an outdated "cuss list" of 28 words on directors and producers which included words like "Bombay" and "Lesbian". Facing immense backlash, he finally retracted it.

But Mr Nihalani is also keeping his star cast under wraps. When asked if he would rope in actor Alok Nath who has been proficient in doing "cultured" roles, the censor chief said he hadn't thought of it as yet.

"Sanskari is a very good title. Rest will be worked out," he concluded.
