Two shot dead by alleged Maoists in West Bengal

Kolkata: For the first time ever, Maoists seem to have struck in West Bengal's Murshidabad district.

Two persons were found shot dead at Dudhsar village on Tuesday morning. Their throats were also slit.

Posters left at the site claimed the two had been given the 'ultimate punishment' for working as police informers.

Two weeks ago, police had arrested one person from this village on suspicion of Maoist links.
