Two policemen killed by militants in Kashmir
Srinagar:  Two policemen were today shot dead by militants in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.

According to police, constables Santosh Kumar and Azad Chand of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) were shot at by the militants from point blank range in Handwara town, 75 kms from the state capital Srinagar.

The duo, who were on routine beat duty in the north Kashmir township, were rushed to a nearby sub-district hospital where the doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Security forces cordoned off the area immediately and launched a manhunt for the assailants.
