Kolkata:

Trinamool Congress (TMC), today, submitted documents to the CBI - three days after the agency re-sent a notice to the party seeking details of the its accounts.

"On the instruction of the party, we have submitted documents on behalf of the party," TMC leader Tapas Roy said after submitting the papers.

Asked if they have submitted accounts as sought by the CBI, he said, "(We have given) whatever they have asked for".

The Special Crime Branch of CBI probing the Saradha scam had, on April 6, re-sent a notice to the TMC All-India General Secretary Subrata Bakshi seeking details of the party's accounts.

The agency had asked details of sources of income of the party for 2010-2013 and also the expenditure pattern.

The party was given a week's time to respond to the notice.

In an apparent reference to the CBI's notice asking for the account details, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee had attacked the Modi government yesterday.

"If you want my party's account, go and take it from income tax. Instead of that you are sending me notice.", said the West Bengal Chief Minister.

"Notices will pile up and we will send them back to you.You have come to power and are sending me notices. Tomorrow you will not be in power. The people will send you notice," Ms Banerjee added.
