Tehatta: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday assured that her government was serious about fulfilling the promises it had made before the people.

"Trinamool Congress government in the state not only makes promises, but fulfills them. At least 65 per cent of people in Nadia district have already received benefits under several projects and the rest will get them soon," she said at a public meeting here.

Citing the example of the health sector, the Chief Minister said that all the new 34 multi-super specialty hospitals, announced earlier, would come up across the state.

She said that construction of two such hospitals had already been completed and would be inaugurated shortly.

The new super specialty hospitals with 300 beds are located at Nayagram (west Midnapore) and Barjora (Bankura) respectively.

The project was conceived after the Trinamool Congress came to power in 2011 with Banerjee holding charges of the health portfolio as well.

Other such super specialty hospitals are coming up in the districts of East Midnapore, Purulia, Birbhum, Jalpaiguri, South 24-Parganas and North 24-Parganas.

Banerjee inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a host of development projects covering roads, water supply, health care facilities, new buses for the districts, administrative buildings, bridges, new equipment and godown for sericulture institute, among others.

The chief minister also distributed cycles among students under 'Sabuj Sathi' scheme, besides extending facilities to a large number of beneficiaries under 'Tant Sathi', 'Kanyashree', 'Yuvashree' and 'Sikshashree' schemes.
