Teenager allegedly killed for dropping a catch

Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh: A game of cricket cost a 15-year-old boy his life in Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh after two of his friends allegedly killed him for dropping a catch.

When the victim Simran dropped the catch, his friends, who were watching the game, were annoyed and  started taunting him, police said today.When Simran opposed, they assaulted him which left him unconscious. His family members then rushed him to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Mohammadi Kotwali inspector DP Singh said a case under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) has been lodged and investigations have
started. The police haven't yet spoken to Simran's family.

The two boys who allegedly assaulted Simran are missing.
