Teachers Should Adapt With Changing Times: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Thane: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said teachers should adapt themselves according to the changing times in order to nurture best of the talents.

Mr Fadnavis was speaking at a function here to mark Teachers' Day where as many as 106 teachers from the state were felicitated.

"With the fast-paced changing world, teachers should also keep them updated with the latest happenings and changes. And thereby, help create best students. Mindset of teachers should also change with the changing times," he said.

Citing an example of exemplary education India had once with college like Madras Presidency College counted as one of the world's best institutes, Mr Fadnavis said such education system prevailed in India and people should look up to country's rich legacy.

The state government is doing everything possible to keep teachers content, he said, adding that they are free to put forth legitimate demands, which could be considered by the government.

State Education minister Vinod Twade said government will ensure a success rate of 96 per cent in class 10th examination (Maharashtra Board) in the current academic year, while for the remaining four per cent skill development training will be rendered, he said.

The minister on the occasion appealed to teachers that the 'union culture' should not enter into school academics.
