Swine flu: Who needs to be tested?
New Delhi:

Doctors say the only people who need to be tested are:

  • Those with acute respiratory illnesses
  • Those who live in an area where there are one or more confirmed cases
  • Those who have had about seven days of close contact with a person who has tested positive for swine flu
  • Those who have travelled to an area with one or more confirmed H1N1 cases within seven days of their travel

The doctors also say that the test has to be conducted at the right time because if tested during the virus' incubation period, the result could a false negative.
