Swine Flu Claims 8 More Lives in Rajasthan, Toll Climbs to 366

Swine flu has claimed eight more lives in parts of Rajasthan in the last 24 hours, raising the toll due to the H1N1 virus to 366 since January one this year, an official said today.

Out of 6,123 people found positive for H1N1, 366 people have died of the dreaded disease this year so far, the official of the Medical and Health Directorate said.

This toll includes 21 H1N1-patients who had come to Rajasthan for treatment from other states and died in government or private hospitals during the stipulated period, the official said, quoting a new bifurcation of data.

Jaipur has recorded the maximum number of deaths with the toll rising to 68 followed by Ajmer 41, Jodhpur 33, Nagaur 29, Barmer 23, Kota 18, Chittorgarh 13, Sikar, Udaipur 12 each, Sikar and Pali 11 each, Jhunjhunu, Tonk, Bhilwara 8 each, Churu 7, Bikaner, Banswara and Dausa 6 each, Bharatpur and Rajsamand 5 each and one to four at many other places in the state.
