Suspected Maoists Kill LJP Leader, Cousin In Bihar's Gaya

Gaya: Suspected Maoists shot dead a district-level leader of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and his cousin, who is a panchayat poll candidate, in Dumaria police station area of Gaya district this evening, police said.

LJP leader Suresh Paswan, who was going with his cousin Sunil Paswan and some supporters, were waylaid in Dubat Tola by the attackers who then fired killing both, Additional Superintendent of Police Manoj Yadav said.

The dead LJP leader's wife Maya Rani is 'mukhiya' of Kachar panchayat where she is seeking re-election in on-going panchayat polls.

Sunil Paswan is a candidate for member of Kachar panchayat.
    
The attackers also burnt a car, a mini truck and a motorbike moving with the killed LJP leader.

A joint team of Bihar police and CRPF has been conducting raids in the wake of killing of the LJP leader.
