Shashi Tharoor 'cleans up' his act

Shashi Tharoor 'cleans up' his act
Thiruvananthapuram:

Guess what Shashi Tharoor, the Congress candidate from Thiruvananthapuram, is doing hours before the results?

The poster boy of Kerala's capital is tearing his own posters. A day before he gets to know whether the people of Thiruvananthapuram have elected him or not as their MP, Tharoor has begun a cleanliness drive.

"This is a beautiful town, and I don't want politics to disfigure it. So I am setting an example as a candidate," he says.

Shashi says he is confident that he and his Congress led UDF will be smiling on 16th of May. His confidence particularly risen after surveys have given the Congress more the a dozen seats of the total 20 in Kerala.

"The verdict will be of not just turning a page which will be in our favour but the people will decide to write a new chapter."

The Left took 18 out of the 20 Lok Sabha seats from Kerala in 2004. But projections indicate that this time around the performance may not be as good.
